Mario Bailey publishes Expat Family Living. The work here is not travel writing. It is finding the authority that publishes a number, reading the number on that authority's own page, recording the date, and putting it somewhere a parent can find it at eleven at night.

They built the verification gate this site runs on: nine required figures per destination, each traced to a primary source, and an automatic hold on any page whose figures go ninety days without a recheck.

The authority on this site is method, not personal experience. Every figure names the authority that publishes it, links to the page it was read on, and prints the date. You never have to take an editor's word for a number: the point is that you can go and check it. Our editorial policy sets out the rules, and the methodology explains what has to be true before a destination publishes at all.
