Leah Ford

Editor, Expat Family Living. (she/her)

Leah Ford edits Expat Family Living. Nothing reaches this site without going through her: she checks that each figure resolves to the authority that issues it, that the date printed beside a number is the date the source was actually read, and that anything we could not verify is marked as missing rather than quietly filled in.

Most of the work is refusal. A destination page is held back when one of its nine required figures cannot be found on an official page, and a guide loses a paragraph when the only support for it is another website repeating the same claim. The pages that make it through are the ones where the sourcing survived that.

What Leah does not claim

She is not an immigration adviser, a tax adviser or a broker, and nothing she edits here is advice for your family's situation.

The authority on this site is method, not personal experience. Every figure names the authority that publishes it, links to the page it was read on, and prints the date. You never have to take an editor's word for a number: the point is that you can go and check it. Our editorial policy sets out the rules, and the methodology explains what has to be true before a destination publishes at all.
